On October 3, 2023, Venezuela was recently designated for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Temporary Protected Status (TPS) allows individuals to remain temporarily in the United States if there are certain extraordinary conditions that have prevented Venezuelans from returning safely to their country. The most recent 2023 TPS designation is set to expire on April 7, 2025.
The Secretary of Homeland Security has determined that the 2023 conditions that justified protection no longer exist, so that designation is being terminated. Under U.S. rules, the termination takes effect 60 days after its publication in the Federal Register.
The termination notice is scheduled to be published on February 5, 2025.
